[Pathfinder] Ability to grab Damage Values from Unarmed Strike or Primary Natural Attacks

    Details

      Description

      Constrict doesn't seem to be consistent in its application. If I take it as an ability as an eidolon, it works fine. However, if I gain it from the Final Embrace UC feat, the dice, dice count, and bonus are empty. Default values don't seem to be getting set.

          Give it values in the Feat... this is what we call a base ability which doesn't know what the values should be. Since multiple creatures can have a constrict, but varying values, we leave it to the coder to enter the correct values. Now, if the Constrict Ability has a set value, or is set by size then I can fix it. (Constrict is granted by the race normally).

          Then, this is a different issue altogether. I need to know how to retrieve the unarmed strike dice and diesize, or the primary natural melee weapon dice and diesize. That's where the feat says the constrict values come from.

          That is harder, much much harder.

          So, let me ask this. What about creatures with multiple primary attacks? Is the value the highest, the lowest of somewhere else between?

          Solution:

          Use PrimaryAttackDamageDice and PrimaryAttackDamageSize for your feat. The system is in a basic state, but it defaults to the secondary damage progression that Humanoids follow:
          S = 1d3
          M = 1d4
          If it has an actual "Primary" natural attack, then it defaults to that, that is ANY attack defined by default as PRIMARY. Any creature, like a horse that goes from a secondary to primary will NOT be used.
          Monk is also not set up to use this system yet... working on that now.

          Completed: At revision: 25454

          This handles ONLY Attacks granted by the ABILITY/TEMPLATE model. Any creature that is using a NATURALATTACK on the race line will default to the secondary track based upon size.

          Monks and anything using the new system of ABILITY grants Template based upon size will use the correct numbers. EXCEPT in the case of using ENLARGE or other size modifying objects. The system is not set up to handle that sort of change.

          Cheers,

          This system can also be fooled if you have something like this:

          Bite 1d8
          Claw 2d4

          Constrict will be 2d8. Just be aware otherwise, this is the best I can do without doing some serious cross reference tables...
