2H sword atk/dam reads as null for "simple" exported OS

    Details

      Description

      PCGen 5.17.16, PFRPG + APG + Bestiary

Giant is wielding a Gargantuan Greatsword, in "both hands".
The character sheet display ("standard") shows the character with th correct attack bonus
The exported PDF file (D:\Games\PCGen\PCGen51716\outputsheets\d20\fantasy\pdf\csheet_fantasy_simple_grey_light.xslt) does not - it shows "null" for attack and damage – "null" is the invalid to-hit text

same problem if sword is equipped to "equipped" rather than to "both hands"

      if I export to D:\Games\PCGen\PCGen51716\outputsheets\d20\fantasy\pdf\csheet_fantasy_std_grey_light.xslt
the problem does not arise, as all options are shown, so the problem must be in the output sheet?

          Open Verakas.pcg in PCGen 5.17.16
          File > Export > PDF
          a) pick fantasy_standard
the (correct) result is attached at Verakas.PDF
          b) pick fantasy_simple
the (incorrect) result is attached as Verakas_simple.PDF

open the latter... observe her listed result for 2H greatsword. Compare to the Fantasy_standard output - or while open in PCGen, with the character sheet display in the program

          more simply still:
start PCVGen 5.17.16, with Pathfinder mode, and just PF RPG Core book.
Create new character, any race (e.g. Human)
don't bother with any scores... add Ftr 1
go to equipment, add a Greatsword (either ignore cost, or add enough coins)
equip the sword to both hands.
export to Fantasy_simple PDF sheet - shows Atk and Dam as "null" or "N/A" or whatever preference for invalid scores.
export to Fantasy_standard and it is OK.

Well, the answer is it's OS. And it's not an easy fix on my end, but it's an EASY fix on your end. CHANGE your Preference to make Invalid to HIT 'N/A' exactly as written, Capital N and Capital A. Export and it works. Whomever set it up, hardcoded it to only work if the output text was 'N/A'.

I'll see about getting that sorted out later, but for now, that will fix your end.

yes - changing to "N/A" works fine.
Sang is, that the default setting is "null "in 5.17.16, so out-of-the-box it's broken.
